Bio (Charlie Zhang)

Charlie Zhang

Charlie was born and raised in Jiangsu province, China. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Materials Science at Nanjing Normal University in 2018. He then pursued his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Boston College under Prof. James P. Morken, focusing on innovative methodologies combining organoboron chemistry and transition metal catalysis. After completing his Ph.D. in early 2024, he joined Prof. Kevin Frankowski’s group at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a postdoctoral researcher, where he is currently synthesizing small molecule candidates targeting Aquaporin water channel proteins..
