Pawan Dhote

Pawan was born and raised in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. He received his B.Sc. (Chemistry) from Fergusson College, Pune in 2014, and M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) in 2016 from the Department of Chemistry, Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly known as the University of Pune), Maharashtra, India. In 2017, he enrolled at the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India for doctoral studies in organic chemistry as a DST- INSPIRE Fellow. In Dr. C.V. Ramana’s group, Pawan’s research focused on gold catalyzed o-nitroalkyne/o-azidoalkyne reactions and their applications in the total syntheses of pseudoindoxyl natural products. After graduating in early 2022, he joined the group of Dr. Zarko Boskovic at The University of Kansas as postdoctoral researcher and worked on photochemical organic transformations. In December 2022, he joined the group of Dr. Kevin Frankowski as a postdoctoral research associate at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently working on synthesis of compounds that target Metastasis cancer cells and organo-electrochemical reactions.
